Barring intervention from the United States Supreme Court, same-sex marriages could begin as early as next week in the Commonwealth of Virginia. While the issue is far from settled, it appears as though same-sex marriage in Virginia could be a reality. Same-sex marriage could bring forth several new and interesting legal issues in family law.
