On March 23, 2016 the Young Lawyers Conference of the Virginia State Bar held its annual Bench-Bar Dinner Celebrating Women and Minorities in the Legal Profession. This year’s event took place at the Jepson Alumni Center on the campus of the University of Richmond. The event recognized 20 newly appointed and elevated judges in the Commonwealth. Many other Virginia judges were in attendance along with attorneys from across the state. Cooper Ginsberg Gray was a Gold Level Sponsor of the Celebration and was prominently featured on the welcome signage.
As President of the YLC, our very own Nathan Olson gave the welcome remarks. Nathan gave the honorees and attendees an introduction to the YLC and explained the numerous projects and programs YLC members undertake each year. He congratulated the judges being honored and thanked the attorneys who attended. VSB President Edward Weiner gave the Opening Remarks and introduced the Keynote Speaker, Judge Hannah M. Lauck of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia. Judge Lauck captivated the crowd with her story of success and her tips on work-life balance. The event was a near sell-out and the YLC received many compliments on how well the event was organized.
This event marked the fifth speaking engagement for Nathan during his presidential term. He also had the honor of sharing a table with Virginia Supreme Court Justice, Cleo E. Powell. Congratulations Nathan on another successful YLC event.
