On February 5, 2015 Nathan Olson attended a CLE seminar on Advanced Guardian Ad Litem topics. These topics included Representing Children with Special Needs, Best Practices in Child Custody Evaluations, and a primer on Abuse and Neglect Issue. The seminar concluded with a question and answer session with a panel of judges including: The Honorable Richard Y. AtLee, Jr. (York County Circuit Court); The Honorable Deborah V. Bryan (Virginia Beach Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court); and The Honorable Glenn R. Croshaw (Virginia Beach Circuit Court).
The seminar provided a wealth of knowledge on some very challenging aspects of Guardian ad Litem work. Nathan Olson, Stephanie Smith, and Robert Worster, III are trained as Guardians ad Litem and they use seminars such as this to keep abreast of the evolving roles that Guardians play in custody cases.
