On April 16-19, 2015, Kristen Kugel traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a coach with a George Mason Trial Advocacy Team to the American Association for Justice 2015 Student Trial Advocacy National Competition. This team secured a spot in the national competition after winning the regional championship in Washington D.C. the weekend of March 19-22, 2015. The top fourteen teams from across the country came to Pittsburgh to compete for the national title. George Mason made it all the way to the final round of the competition after defeating the University of Notre Dame in the semi-final round. George Mason ultimately came in second place, losing only by a point to Stetson University. This was George Mason’s first time winning the regional championship and appearing at the National competition.
