Last month, the topic at CGG’s Divorce Support Circle was “letting go.” Clients spoke about how difficult it was to let go of anger, resentment, their marital home, the dreams they had for their family, the expectations they had of their spouse, and feelings of failure. Clients reported feeling weighed down by emotional baggage.
They were encouraged to write down what they needed to let go off in order to help them move forward. They then placed their writings in a box that served as a cathartic outlet (as pictured). Clients acknowledged that one of the hardest realities to face was accepting that their spouse’s part in their story was over, and acknowledged that achieving closure is a process.
For some of the attendees, moving on remained difficult and they continued to need support. Others reported progress toward their recovery goal.
The Divorce Support Circle is held once per month and is facilitated by the firm’s psychologist/divorce coach, Dr. Leah Nathan.
