Kristen Kugel attended the 2015 Fairfax Bar Association Convention over the weekend of September 26-27, 2015. This year’s convention was held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center at the National Harbor. The convention consisted of two days of continuing legal education seminars, which covered topics like social media evidence and its use in trial, and a thorough discussion of third party custody and visitation cases. The highlight of the convention took place Saturday night and was a Judicial Roast of the Honorable Dennis J. Smith (Ret.). The Roast celebrated his legal career, including his time on the Fairfax County Circuit Court bench. The night ended with a presentation of Judge Smith’s judicial portrait, which will be hung in the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse.
